Dave Duplissey

Born on the banks of Bayou Bouef, Dave Duplissey has deep roots in Cajun Creole culture. He began his career in the seventh grade at Colton Jr. High School under the direction of  Professer Ernie Bishoff as his music teacher in New Orleans La. By the tenth grade Dave was playing in Orleans, France  with his fathers band The Midnight Ramblers who toured Army and Airforce bases through out France for two years. Upon his return to the USA he played in Augusta, Georgia with his friends from high school at private clubs and parties for two years.  Then his father was transferred to Ft Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina and worked with an agency owned by Jack Robinson talent who provided backup musicians for stars like Major Lance, Ronnie Milsap, Ace Cannon to name a few. That's where Dave joined the U. S. Army and became a member of the 440 United States Army Band, after graduating from th U. S. Navel School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia and attained the rank of E-5 in only fifteen months he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska for one year with the 214th U. S. Army Band where he organized the horn section for Etta James at the North Star Lounge for all her shows. After his tour in the armed services  he came home to Louisiana and started playing on Bourbon Street at Peppies Play Pen 327 Bourbon for a year. Than Dave move to Alexandria,  La. and married his wife of forty three years Linda Sue Robbins and continued to play all vennues and styles of music while raising two beautifull daughters Brandi and Styphanie.

Today Dave brings a touch of class through world class traditional jazz and variety music.

   The millennium brought Dave to the "Louisian Hall of Fame" in the year 2000 and again in 2002. Dave is considered tops in his field of saxophonist.

   Other bands Dave has been a member of are John Fred and The Playboys with the international number one hit " Judy in Disquise" also the current horn section leader for the Harmon Drew Super Group a ten piece rhythn and blues band (www.harmondrew.com) voted Shrevport's best band in Shreveport Bossier Magazine and best statewide band in Louisiana

life Magazine. Dave has taken his career to a new level with his smooth Jazz style of today.
